Monroe Network News, Monday, Sep 30, 'B' day


This week is spirit week.  Are you wearing your pajamas today? You have another chance to show your school spirit tomorrow by dressing to impress. Come in your best 80s getup on Wednesday, wear something camouflage on Thursday, and bring out the purple and gold on Friday. Friday, October 4 is also the day of our annual homecoming tailgate.   it will be on the practice field next to the cage at the Middle School from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on October 4th. Thwere will be a dj, mechanical bull, giant inflatable slide, inflatable jousting, games, spirit face painting, and food for sale. Tickets cost $7.00 , which also includes admission to the homecoming football game.

THE JAZZ DANCE TEAM WILL practice AFTER SCHOOL TODAY IN THE WRESTLING GYM, AND on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3RD IN THE MAIN GYM. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WEDNESDAY PRACTICE IS A CHANGE IN DATE AND LOCATION FROM THE PREVIOUS SCHEDULE.

The Ex Animo Club will be holding its first meeting TODAY after school in room F-318. The club will discuss upcoming events such as the Matt Collura 5-K and THE October candy sale. If you are looking to join a club whose members are dedicated to helping others, this is the one!

The Media Center will close at 3:00 this afternoon. Please plan accordingly.

the next Peace Ambassadors meeting will be on Tuesday, October 1st at 2:10 in room G206.  All are welcome.

Senior t-shirts will be delivered during block 1B classes on Wednesday, October 2nd.  If you would still like to order one, please see Mrs. Williams in the Art Room H-108 as soon as possible.

There will be introductory meeting for the American Oratorical Society after school on Wednesday, October 2nd at 2:15 PM in room G-347.  the cub is looking for students who are interested in public speaking competitions for scholarship money prizes.  See Mr. Thumm with any questions.

Art Club is Meeting on Thursday, October 3rd at 2:10 in room H-103.

the MTHS College Fair is being held on Thursday, October 3rd, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Media Center. Representatives from over 70 schools will be attending.  Students and their parents are encouraged to attend this Informative event to gain valuable information about their college choices.

It’s not too late to join FBLA! GET A membership registration form outside Room G-227. complete the packet and submit it along with your dues at THE next meeting ON THURSDAY, October 3, immediately after school in Room G-227! THIS MEETING WILL ALSO BE THE CLUB’S welcome ice-cream AND ices social. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Dale in Room G227.

WANT TO SEE ONE OF OUR SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS KISS A PIG? CONTAINERS ARE NOW SET UP IN THE CAFETERIA WITH EACH ADMIN'S NAME, AND THE ONE WITH THE MOST MONEY WILL KISS A PIG AT THE PEP RALLY ON OCTOBER 4TH.

Senior Superlative papers will be distributed soon in Language arts classes. Voting takes place online- refer to the handouts for necessary info. All superlative votes are due by October 7th! Also, it is time to upload your Friends Forever and Remember When pictures for the yearbook. Use the website and password on the flyer given to you in your language arts class to make sure that you and your friends are represented in this year’s book.

Youth and Government is meeting on Tuesday, October 8th at 2:10pm in room G-306. The club is selecting officers and discussing this year's conference. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

Attention Seniors: The FINAL day for senior portrait retakes will be Monday, October 7th in the Media Center. This is your last chance to take a picture here at MTHS. All senior portrait choices for the yearbook MUST be made by October 15th, no exceptions. If you do not pick a pose by this date, one will be chosen for you and you will not be able to change it.

The Media Center has a cart full of new fiction books that are FREE to Students and Faculty.  come by and check it out from 7 TO 4, MonDAY THROUGH ThursDAY and from 7 TO 2 on Fridays. Students will need a pass during the school day. Contact the Media Center if you have any questions.
