Monroe Network News, Wednesday, 02.04.15, 'A' day

the MTHS Table Tennis Federation will meet on Thursday, February 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Commons.  You mist sign in on the roster to be allowed to play.

Chess Club will meet on Thursday February 5th, 2015 from about 2:20 PM to about 4:20 PM in Room F-327.  All are welcome.  If you would like to learn how to play, club members will teach you. Please bring a friend and enjoy this ancient "Immortal" game of Kings.

Youth and Government is meeting on Thursday, February 5th after school in room G-305. All delegates must attend this meeting. The club will assign co-sponsors, register the delegation and hand out credentials. Delegates should bring a rough draft of their bill ideas. The club will also begin the bill writing process.

THE junior class IS meeting ON Thursday, February 5th AFTER SCHOOL in room f-336. ON THE AGENDA ARE Junior Prom and fundraising. All Juniors are welcome to attend.

Senior Options applications are due by Friday, February 6.  Please bring them to Mrs. Stasi’s office in the Media Center.

FBLA are hosting their 4th Annual "Karaoke For A Cause!" on Friday, February 6, at 6:30pm in the commons. If you don't want to do Karaoke, you can lip-synch, too! Ticket donations are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door! See an FBLA member for tickets! Please see Ms. Dale with any questions.

Ex-Animo IS NOW collecting warm winter clothing for the red cross. Please bring donations to Ms. Bruno or Mr. Esteves in room F316. Ex-Animo will also hold a meeting on Wednesday February 4th after school in room F-318.  Important information will be discussed.  All members should attend.
Auditions for the Drama Club’s spring musical Young Frankenstein will be held on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6 at 2:20 in the auditorium.  You must audition on one of the two days.  Prepare a Broadway song, get the script readings from Mr. Byrnes, and come prepared to dance.  Consult the bulletin board near the auditorium for details.

Congratulations to lindsay laviola, winner of this week’s Photography club photo contest for the theme “shadows”. The next photo CONTEST theme is “Something red”. Photos must be emailed to Ms. Dale by 3:00 pm on Monday, february 9th. the next Photography Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 10 after school in Room G227. Passes for the yearbook photo will be distributed at this meeting, and are also available outside room g-227.

DECA state testing will take place after school on Monday, February 9th and on Thursday, February 12.  You must pick up your test day and time from Mrs. Stapenski by 2:00 PM this Thursday, February 5.  Any student going to the state conference who does not test will be dropped and cannot receive a refund for their payment.

winter cheerleaders will be selling hot Philly Factory pretzels after school on Tuesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 12. They cost $1 each. You can also see any cheerleader, Ms. Ballard or Ms. Quindes to pre-order.

Looking for a gift for your Best Friend or that Special SOMEONE?  The Junior class will sell Valentines Day Candy Grams and Carnation flowers during all lunches FROM February 9TH THROUGH THE 13TH.  You can havE iT delivered DURING block 1 ON Friday the 13th, or givE IT to that special SOMEONE YOURSELF.  ALL PROCEEDS HELP SUPPORT THE JUNIOR CLASS AND JUNIOR PROM.

Club pictures for the yearbook have been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 17th. You must have a pass from your advisor to take a picture.

The Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement is seeking qualified applicants for its 2015 Scholarship Program. nineteen $2000 scholarships and five $1000 scholarships will be awarded this year. Please note that You do not need to be of Asian Pacific descent to be eligible for this scholarship.
