Monroe Network News, Wednesday, May 28, 'B' day

SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY WILL HAVE A brief MANDATORY MEETING TODAY at 2:15pm ON THE STEPS OUTSIDE THE AUDITORIUM. Topic of discussion is the june 7th CONCERT.  ALL MEMBERS MUST ATTEND.

Anyone running for DECA office next school year must pick up an application from Mrs. Stapenski.  All applications are due by TODAY. Thinking of joining DECA next year?  Then Come to the meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 PM in cafeteria ‘A’.   Find out what is required to be a DECA member. Current DECA members should also attend.

There will be a mandatory girls basketball meeting on Thursday, MAY 29 immediately after school in the wrestling room. All players interested in trying out for next season must attend.

FBLA will elect NEXT YEAR’S executive board on Thursday, May 29 immediately after school in Room G-227. ALL MEMBERS SHOULD ATTEND!

students interested in playing volleyball in the fall must attend a meeting on Monday, June 2nd at 2:15 in the GYMnasium.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DREW DALE FOR WINNING THE MOST RECENT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST. THE THEME WAS “ANYTHING SUMMER”. THE THEME OF THE NEXT PHOTO CONTEST IS “WORDS & QUOTES”. please contact ms. dale for detailed contest rules and requirements. ENTRIES must be emailed TO MS. DALE BY 2:00 PM ON MONDAY, JUNE 2. MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE THE THEME AND YOUR FULL NAME IN THE SUBJECT OF YOUR EMAIL. THE NEXT PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB MEETING WILL BE ON TuesDAY, june 3rd AT 2:10 IN ROOM G-227.

The academic team’s end of the year party has been moved to Tuesday, June 3rd at 2:10 in Room G-247. All members may attend!

The MTHS Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, June 4th in the auxiliary gym. to donate blood please you must hand in your signed permission slips to your Phys-Ed teacher by Friday, May 30th. please contact Ms. Pecherski or Ms. Ritter with any questions.

Competition Cheer Tryouts will be held june 3rd through the 5th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Auxiliary Gym. You must be present on ALL three days. Contact Coach Titus with any questions.

Football Cheer Tryouts will be held from June 9th and 10th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the auxiliary gym. You must be present on both days to be considered for the squad. See Coaches Titus or Ballard with any questions. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR Physical IS up to date!

THE MTHS DANCE TEAM IS SPONSORING A CLOTHING DRIVE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 7 AT 10:00 AM IN THE high school PARKING LOT.  CLOTHING AND SHOES MAY BE BAGGED SEPARATELY.  Boxed HARD TOYS AND BICYCLES ARE ALSO ACCEPTED.  ITEMS MAY BE DROPPED OFF IN ADVANCE TO MS. KUDRAK IN room G-314 OR MS. WOLK IN room G-214.

All library materials must be returned or paid for by Saturday, June 7th. Please return all materials to the Media Center. if the Media Center is closed, you can also bring materials to the main office. please contact the Media Center if you have any questions.

Youth and Government is meeting on Monday, June 9th after school in room G-306. The club will choose officers for next year and announce next year's conference dates. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

Attention Juniors: It is time to take your senior portraits for next year. Make sure to confirm your appointment with Lifetouch based on the appointment card that was mailed home. A copy of the portrait schedule is posted outside of the yearbook room c-149.

Project Graduation is a celebration of your graduation of high school. Graduates will cruise around New York ON A LYXURY SHIP, seeing sites LIKE the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, and the New York City skyline. There WILL BE a delicious buffet, a DJ for dancing AND TONS OF OTHER ENTERTAINMENT! Permission slips have been mailed home and are also are available on the MTHS website. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

Do you want to become more responsible and improve your interpersonal and leadership skills? Then attend FALCON LEADERSHIP YOUTH, or “FLY” Camp on August 7th and August 8th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Lunch and transportation will be provided. This is a great opportunity for personal growth and to meet new people. get a Permission slip from Mr. Fields in Phys Ed., Ms. Basile in the media center, the teacher workrooms, or the district website. Forms must be returned by June 20th.
