Monroe Network News, Tuesday, Dec 3, 'B' day


SHS fundraiser order forms and money are due TODAY. PLEASE SUBMIT THEM to Ms. Quindes in room G-314 or Ms. Wolk in G-214.

There will be a mandatory Model U-N Meeting TODAY AFTER SCHOOL in room G-207.  All country research papers should be completed by then.  The club will submit all papers at the meeting.

the Robotics and Tech Clubs will be meeting today and on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 in room H-124 with Mr. Snow. Time is running out for competition robots!

Young Science Achiever's club is meeting at 2:00 PM today in room F-218. Bring your candy money.  We will be using the telescopes to look at the surface of the Sun.

TODAY IN HISTORY, BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE MTHS HISTORY CLUB: ON DECEMBER 3, 1931 - Alka Seltzer goes on sale for the first time.

Anyone interested in trying out for winter cheerleading needs to see Ms. Ballard or Ms. Quindes as soon as possible. Tryouts will be helD thIS week. Keep watching MNN for more information.

Table Tennis play will restart on Thursday, December 5.  Play will begin shortly after 2:00 PM and will end at 4:00.  Tables should be broken-down and returned to storage by 4:15 PM.  More meetings are planned for December 12 and 19.

French Honors Society will hold its next meeting on Thursday, December 5th, from 2:05 to 2:35 in room F-327.  Attendance is mandatory in order to maintain good standing in the Society. The Main itme on the Agenda is Movie Night, Part II.

Art Club is Meeting on Thursday, December 5th at 2:10 in Room H108.

FCA will be meeting on Thursday, December 5th at 2:15 in room F-306.  The club will be making popcorn bags for movie night. All are welcome.

The next Gay Straight Alliance meeting will be on Thursday, December 5 at 2:10 in room G-206.  All are welcome.

There will be a FLY CAMP Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday, December 5 at 2:10 in Room G-204. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Beagan or any of the FLY Camp Staff members.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION CLUB On Thursday, DECEMBER FIFTH AT 2:10 IN ROOM F-226. The club WILL WORK ON POSTERS FOR THE “ENVIROMOBILE” AND DEVELOP the DISTRICT GARDENS VIDEO PROJECT. ALL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

the DECA online testing schedule is now posted on the bulletin board outside Room G-237.  Your block and time cannot be changed.  If you do not show up on your scheduled day and time you cannot continue to the conference in January.  Only absentees who are on the official school attendance sheet will be allowed to make up the test on December 12. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SIGN OFF ONCE YOU HAVE VIEWED YOUR SCHEDULE.

Bring your lunch to the next Brown Bag Lunch on Wednesday, December 11th, during 3rd Block in the media center. The topic will be “Memorable Reads.” Discuss characters, plot, setting, and topic of a book that you think is particularly memorable. You can sign-up now in the Media Center.

Youth and Government is meeting on Monday, December 16th in room G-306. Please Bring your bill topic ideas. The club will complete and submit The hotel registration for the delegation. All delegates should attend as roommates will be selected at this meeting. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have its annual Christmas Party on Thursday, December 19th at 2:15 in room F-306.  FCA state director Harry Flaherty will be in attendance.  Refreshments and desserts will be served.

SENIOR AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS are now available on naviance. AWARDS ARE BROKEN DOWN BY CATEGORY BASED ON THE DONOR’S CRITERIA. Go to THE “COLLEGES” TAB and CLICK ON “SCHOLARSHIPS”. and finally, The MTHS Academic Team reached the quarterfinals of the Monsignor Donovan Academic Competition. Congratulations to James Taylor, Taylor Payne, Arhum Siddiqi, Bharat Nadendla, Shyama Srikkanth, Katherine Genuino, and Danielle Albaciete. Thanks to all who participated.
