Monroe Network News, Friday, 03.20.15, 'A' day


Wanna see who will be crowned the next Mr. Monroe? Come out TONIGHT AT 7:00 pm in the PAC to see who will win. Tickets are only being sold at the door for $7.

History Club is meeting after school on Monday, March 23rd in room G-305.

Ex-Animo will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 24 at 2:10 in room f-318. All members should attend.

FBLA will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, MARCH 24 in Room G227. This room location may change so please be aware of room change announcementS. All members should attend. See Ms. Dale WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

Attention Seniors: the Last chance to order your Cap & Gown is on march 25th. You can place your orders with Jostens during all lunch blocks that day.

Computer Club is meeting on Thursday, March 26th after school in room G-136.

Junior Prom bids are now on sale during all lunches.  You can also buy bids from Ms. Lyons or Ms. Riggi after school in workroom G-323. ALL STUDENT INFORMATION FORMS MUST BE HANDED IN A SEALED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR NAME ON IT WHEN YOU PURCHASE YOUR PROM BID.

The deadline for ordering a yearbook is April 30th. The cost is $105 per book. 90% of the available books have been sold already. Don’t be left out!

Did you ever read something great and wished you could talk to someone about it? well, wish no more: the MTHS Media Center just launched “READ & FEED: Raves, Reviews and Such”. you can find the forum on the Media Center’s website.  go there to talk about some of the great things you are reading. To preserve your privacy, only first names will be used. The forum is also moderated, so inappropriate comments will not be posted.  As George R.R. Martin wrote in A Dance with Dragons,  “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, . . . The man who never reads lives only one.”

JOIN THE FALCON LIFE AND FALCON PALS STUDENTS in recognizing World Down Syndrome day on march 21! It is a global awareness day to recognize people with Down syndrome, and those who live and work with them. The FALCON PALS/LIFE students will be selling mismatched socks for $2.00 a pair to students during lunch from March 25th through March 31st. Why crazy socks you may ask? THEY want people to ask you why you are wearing mismatched socks so you can tell them about Down Syndrome awareness! In addition, Random Acts of Kindness Butterflies will also be sold for $1.00 each. Students will write down acts that they have done or plan to do to help make someone else’s life a little better and brighter to be displayed in the commons.

Attention Seniors: Senior parking is limited to students with approved parking privileges and who are displaying a parking tag in their vehicles. In addition, student parking is limited to lots C, D, AND E. If all spaces in those lots are taken, students should park in the lot located by field house on the Middle School property. Parking in any other lot is strictly prohibited and will result in suspension of parking privileges. finally, Juniors are reminded that they are not allowed to park anywhere on campus during school hours. juniors parking on campus risk a suspension or possible denial of parking privileges in their senior year.
