Monroe Network News, Wednesday, Nov 6, 'A' day


Spanish Honor Society memberS who missed the LAST meeting should see Ms. Quindes in G-314 or Ms. Wolk in G-214 for the pizza dough order form and to sign up for tutoring hours.  students with last names starting with letters “A” trough “L” will tutor in November, and “M” through “Z” will tutor in December. Please email Ms. Quindes or Ms. Wolk with any questions.

All freshman apparel orders are now complete. Please pick them up at your earliesT convenience at the Falcon Zone School Store.

Freshman Volleyball players should turn in their uniforms and Dig Pink money to Coach Bulkley in the Graphic Design room G-156 as soon as possible.

Today is the last day to register for the regional conference.  All forms must be turned in by block 3 to Mrs. Stapenski-either put them in her mailbox or bring them to room G237 during blocks 2 and 3. Also, DECA members going on the 76ers trip must report to the cafeteria by 1:20 today.  No one will be allowed on the bus without a signed permission slip-bring it if you have not turned it in.

Congratulations to the members of the Marching Band and Color Guard for placing first at the US Bands Preview of Champions competition this past Saturday at Old Bridge High School. In addition, they also received awards for the Best Music, Visual Performance, Color Guard and Percussion. The last competition is the US Bands Championships this Saturday in Allentown, PA.

The Falcon Football Team will 'Tackle Hunger' as they hold a food drive until November 8 to benefit the Jamesburg Food Pantry. In light of the big conference showdown with Sayreville on Friday, November 8, each fan is asked to bring 1 canned good with them as they enter the gates. Students and Staff may also bring donations to school. There is a collection box outside of the gym by the concession stand.

The History Club is meeting on Tuesday, November 12th in room G-306. All students assisting the veterans for the Veterans' Day assembly must attend. Bring your interesting historical facts for the month of November to the meeting. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

There are less than 20 spots left for the ski club.  Bring your payment and paperwork to Mr. O in room F-315 to ensure your place in the club.

the Young Science achiever's Club is meeting on Tuesday, November 12, at 2:00 PM in room F-218. the Fundraising candy is ready for pick-up, and a hands-on science activity is planned.  The club will also finish the movie started at the last meeting if time permits.

MTHS Table Tennis Federation will meet on Thursday, November 14, at 2:00 PM in the Commons for free play and a Tournament. tables will be available until 4:00 PM.  Come and have a smashing good time!

Students interested in applying to the Middlesex Arts High program must submit their applications by Friday, November 15th. please see Ms. Bulkley in the Graphic Design room G156 with any questions.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be hosting its first annual “Relentless Volleyball” Tournament on Wednesday, November 20th, at 4:00 pm in the main gym.  Teams will be formed with 5-8 students.  Each player must pay $3 to participate.  Prizes will be given to the winning team and the best dressed team.  Please contact Ms. Quindes in room G314 to sign up, or FCA President Ryan Sosnak.

The College and Career Counseling Center will be hosting a field trip to the Historically Black College and University College Fair on THURSDAY, November 21 at Raritan Valley Community College. Interested students can sign up in the CCCC office.

Are you undecided about your future career goals?  If so, you should consider taking the “ASVAB” test, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.  ASVAB is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program run by the military, however, there is no military obligation. The test will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 8 a.m. in the Media Center. The sign-up sheet is located in the College and Career Counseling Office. The deadline for signing up is November 15th. For more information, please see Mrs. Stasi in the Senior Option office located inside the media center.
