Monroe Network News, Thursday, 01.15.15, 'B' day

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet today at 2:15 PM in room F-306.  Permission slips and money for Super Bowl Breakfast are due.  All are welcome.

National Honor Society is having a Fundraising Night today from 4-8 pm at Panera Bread at the Brunswick Square mall at 755 Route 18 in East Brunswick.  If you are able to attend this event, please see Mrs. Chase, Ms. Dougherty or one of the NHS officers for a flyer which must be presented at the time of purchase.  The proceeds from this event will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation.

THE NEW JERSEY SCIENCE LEAGUE IS A COMPETITIVE SCIENCE ORGANIZATION THAT IS UNIQUE IN BOTH THE STATE AND OUR NATION.  THE LEAGUE OFFERS COMPETITIOnS IN ALL regular and a-p sciences. THE FIRst COMPETITION OF THE YEAR IS SCHEDULED TODAY AT 2:15 PM IN ROOM F327. ALL ARE WELCOME. PLEASE SEE MR. TOLBOOM OR DR. PANGALOS FOR DETAILS.

Congratulations to Thayz queiroz, winner of this week’s Photography club photo contest for the theme “windows”. The next photo CONTEST theme is “animals”. Photos must be emailed to Ms. Dale by 3:00 pm on Monday, january 19th. please note that school is closed that day.

THE MEDIA CENTER’S NEXT “ONE BOOK READ” FEATURING THE BOOK “THE FIRST PHONE CALL FROM HEAVEN” IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19. COPIES CAN BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE THROUGH THE MEDIA CENTER FOR $12.80. THE LAST DAY TO PLACE AN ORDER IS THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 15. SHIPPING TAKES 3-4 DAYS. The Academic Team is meeting on Thursday, January 23rd at 2:10 in room G-247. they will be selecting teams for the BRITE tournament on January 27th, February 3rd, and February 10th.

Tickets are NOW on sale for the Drama Club’s Murder/Mystery Dinner Theatre productionS ON January 22nd and 23rd.  Dinner is at 6:00 PM and the show STARTS at 7:00 PM.  Tickets COST $12.00 and can be purchased from any cast member or Mr. Byrnes. PLEASE NOTE THAT Tickets must be purchased in advance – YOU CANNOT BUY AT THE DOOR.

the Girls Track Team won the White Division Championship at the GMC Relays last Saturday.  The girls also took 2nd overall in the G-M-C conference. The Shuttle Hurdles team consisting of Michayla Weitman, Melissa Barnes, Acacia Douglas, and Tiffany Emelle took 1st plaCe in the conference and also broke the school shuttle hurdle record. The Shot Put relay consisting of Yazmyne Abbott and Onyai Glover also took 1st place in the GMC and shattered the Shot Put Relay school record. Congratulations to the entire Girls Track Team!
