Monroe Network News, Wednesday, 01.21.15, 'A' day

The Academic Team is meeting on Thursday, January 22nd at 2:10 in room G-247. they will be selecting teams for the BRITE tournament on January 27th, February 3rd, and February 10th.

Italian Honors Society will meet on Thursday, January 22 after school in the freshmen cafeteria.  All members must attend.

Student Council is meeting on Thursday, Jan. 22nd in room G-347. The council will distribute passes for the yearbook photo. Please make every effort to attend.

Swimmers interested in swimming at The G-M-C meet must see Ms Rickert by Thursday, January 22nd.

Literary Magazine is meeting today after school in room G-205.

Tickets are NOW on sale for the Drama Club’s Murder/Mystery Dinner Theatre productionS ON January 22nd and 23rd.  Dinner is at 6:00 PM and the show STARTS at 7:00 PM.  Tickets COST $12.00 and can be purchased from any cast member or Mr. Byrnes. PLEASE NOTE THAT Tickets must be purchased in advance – YOU CANNOT BUY AT THE DOOR.

FBLA will hold their next meeting on TuesDAY, January 27th in the LEFT SIDE LECTURE HALL.  FBLA State competition, KIT KAT sales and KARAOKE FOR A CAUSE, will all be discussed. All members should make every effort to attend this meeting. please see Ms. Dale with any questions.

AUDITIONS FOR NEXT YEAR’S WOMEN’S CHORALE AND CONCERT CHOIR CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28TH AT 2:10PM IN THE CHORUS ROOM.  THe AUDITION IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS.  If you want to get a SPOt IN either ensemble you must ATTEND  this AUDITION.  PLEASE SEE MS. ALAGNA OR MR. GOOD IN THE CHORUS ROOM WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

Do you and your friends have a band and are interested in participating in Battle of the Bands this year? Then attend the interest meeting held by the senior class on Thursday, January 29 at 2:10 in room G-356. All event details will be discussed at this meeting.

French Honors Society will hold its next meeting on Thursday January 29th, from 2:05 PM to about 2:20 PM in Room F-327.  All are welcome.

Chess Club will meet on Thursday January 29th, from 2:20 PM to about 4:20 PM in Room F-327.  All are welcome.  If you would like to learn how to play, club members will teach you. Please bring a friend and enjoy this ancient "Immortal" game of Kings.

Key Club is meeting on Thursday, January 29th at 2:30 in the Right Lecture Hall. Please bring your volunteer hours log sheet. passes for the yearbook photo will also be distributed.

All DECA members are invited to the awards pizza party on Thursday, January 29 immediately after school in Cafeteria “A”. You must tell Mrs. Stapenski if you plan to attend by Wednesday, January 28 so she can order enough pizza.

the photography’s club Yearbook Photos will be taken on Monday, February 2, at 10:50 AM in the PAC. Passes were distributed at the last meeting. Passes can also be picked up outside Ms. Dale’s classroom G-227. They are pinned to the bulletin board outside the door.

FBLA are hosting their 4th Annual "Karaoke For A Cause!" on Friday, February 6, at 6:30pm in the commons. If you don't want to do Karaoke, you can lip-synch, too! Ticket donations are $5.00 in advance and $7.00 at the door! See an FBLA member for tickets! Please see Ms. Dale with any questions.

The Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement is seeking qualified applicants for its 2015 Scholarship Program. nineteen $2000 scholarships and five $1000 scholarships will be awarded this year. Please note that You do not need to be of Asian Pacific descent to be eligible for this scholarship. For more information, go to apca-att.org or get an application form from the College & Career Counseling Center.  applications need to be submitted online by Friday, February 15th.
