Science National Honors Society will hold its next meeting on Thursday, May 19, from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM in Room F-327.  All members must attend to maintain their membership status. New members are welcome.

FBLA ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 19, AFTER SCHOOL IN THE LEFT SIDE LECTURE HALL. ALL FBLA MEMBERS SHOULD ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING!

ATTENTION  Seniors: Due to the larger than expected attendance for Senior Prom and the Venue’s room restrictions, table sizes have changed. Therefore, Seniors attending the Prom need to submit a new table assignment list with 14 people per table as soon as possible.  One form per table is sufficient, and they are due in the main office BY FRIDAY MAY 20th. Forms can be found online under “Class of 2016” information, in the main office, and also at the front tables during all lunches.

the FBLA fundraising basketball tournament is taking place on monday, may 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. event setup will start at 4:00 PM, and players should check in at 4:45 PM. the tournament will be followed by a $1 free throw contest at 7:15 PM.

History Club will hold its last meeting of the school year on Tuesday, May 24th in room G347.  All members should attend. See Mrs. Ferrantelli with any questions.

this week is drug and alcohol awareness week. Many young people believe that prescription drugs are safe because they are prescribed by a doctor.  What they don’t know is that more than half of the drug overdose deaths in the United States each year are caused by prescription drug abuse.  In 2001, OVER 9,000 people died from a prescription drug overdose- that number ALMOST TRIPLED TO OVER 25000 in 2014.

Students signed up for AP Human Geography next school year should meet Ms. Abruzzese on Thursday, June 2nd after school in the Left Lecture Hall. The summer assignment will be distributed and discussed.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be showing the movie “War Room” on Thursday, june 2nd at 2:10 PM in room f-206 . the film is a compelling drama with humor and heart that explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships and every other area of our lives. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.  All are welcome.

Project Graduation is a celebration of your graduation of high school. Graduates will take a cruise around New York city on a luxury ship, seeing sites as the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, and the New York City skyline. There is a delicious buffet, entertainment, digital photo booth, and a DJ for dancing the night away! Permission slips are available on the MTHS website. See Ms. Granett with any questions.
