Monroe Network News, Thursday, Jan 23, 'B' day


Fellowship of christian athletes will have a meeting today at 2:15 in room F-306.  Students attending the Superbowl breakfast must see Mrs. Quindes in room g-314 for a permission slip.  Permission slips and $20 dollars are due by January 27th.

Ex-Animo will meet today at 2:10 in room F-318. Please bring any bracelet money or any unsold bracelets to the meeting.

Chess Club will hold its next meeting today from 2:15 to 4:15 PM in room F-327. Even if you do not know the rules of chess –they will teach you!

Italian honors society will meet today after school school in room G-336

student council is meeting today after school in F-216

Youth and Government is meeting today after school in room G-306. The club will determine co-sponsors for bills and discuss bill writing strategies. All participants must attend. See Ms. Granett with any questions.

The Drama Club will present its Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre on January 23rd and 24th in Cafeteria B.  A pasta dinner will be served at 6:00 and the show will start at 7:00.  Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased from any cast member or Mr. Byrnes. no tickets will be sold at the door! Come on out for dinner, laughs, and murder.

students should note that because of the drama production, the After School waiting area will be held in Cafeteria “A” this week.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KIM KRAEMER FOR WINNING THE MOST RECENT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST. THE THEME WAS “MUSIC”. THE THEME OF THE NEXT PHOTO CONTEST IS “LIGHTS”. PLEASE E-MAIL ENTRIES TO MS. DALE BY 2:00 PM on Monday, January 27. MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE THE THEME AND YOUR FULL NAME IN THE SUBJECT OF YOUR EMAIL. THE NEXT PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB MEETING WILL BE ON TuesDAY, FEBRUARY 4 AT 2:10 IN ROOM G-227.

FBLA and The March of Dimes come together again for their 3rd Annual “Karaoke for a Cause” on Wednesday January 29! Come on out and sing your favorite songs from 5:30 pm to 8:30pm in the Commons! Ticket donations are $5.00 in advance and can be purchased from any FBLA member.  Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $7.00.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Dale in Room G-227.

The Falcon L.I.F.E. Program is collecting cans of food for Deacon's Food Cupboard. Please drop off cans in room C-109 by Wednesday, January 29th. they will also be collecting winter mittens or gloves, hats, scarves and socks for the "Sock It To Me" clothing drive. Please drop off all items in room C-109 by Wednesday, January 29th.

Club Pictures for the yearbook will be taken on Thursday, January 30th. You MUST have a pass from your advisor in order to take the picture.

There will a Winter Dance on Friday, January 31st from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the Commons. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7 and include admission to the boys basketball game. Snacks and drinks will also be for sale.

Bank of America’s Student Leaders Programs is offering two great summer opportunities to juniors and seniors: An eight week paid summer internship, and A week long, all-expense paid summit in Washington, DC . This year's ONE BOOK READ title is "Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher. In his book, Asher uses dual narratives to weave an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that affects the novel’s two protagonists.
