Monroe Network News, Thursday, Jan 30, 'A' day


Come out and support the girls basketball team at tonight’s Senior Night. tip off is at 7:00 pm. Wear your Birdcage T-shirt and get into the game free of charge. Join the student section for a “blackout” to support your Lady Falcons! T-shirts cost $10 and are available in the school store and will also be sold in the lobby before the game. All proceeds support your student athletes.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have a meeting today at 2:15 in room F306.  All are welcome. t-shirts will be distributed and dates for the upcoming meetings will be chosen.

Literary Magazine is meeting today after school in room G-346. Come prepared with submissions!

Come out and support your Falcons Boys Basketball team ON THEIR COUNTY AND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT RUN! THE FALCONS WILL TAKE ON GMC rivals Old Bridge on Friday, January 31st at 7:00 pm. Get to the gym early and GET LOUD during the pre-game festivities and ALL GAME LONG! they NEED their 6TH MAN!

There will a Winter Dance on Friday, January 31st from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the Commons. Tickets will be sold at the door for $7 and include admission to the boys basketball game. Snacks and drinks will also be for sale.

Congratulations to track athlete Onyai Glover, who broke the school record in Winter Track last weekend at the GMC Championships with a throw of 31 feet and 9.5 inches. Here’s a clip:

this week is national drug facts week. Adolescents who abuse drugs frequently also suffer from other conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

This week 10% of all school store purchases will be donated to the “Wounded Warrior” Project.  Please help our heroes by buying something from the school store by Friday.

DECA State Conference forms and payment are due by 2:00 PM on Monday, February 3. Please bring to Mrs Stapenski in Room G-237. late registrations will not be accepted.

Girls interested in Spring Track must attend a mandatory pre-season meeting on Thursday, February 6th at 2:10 in room F-338. please see Coach Jessop with any questions.

Boys interested in spring track must come to a brief meeting on Thursday, February 6th after school in room F-325. If you cannot attend or have questions you must see Coach Rickert prior to the meeting.

students interested in playing a spring sport MUST see the nurse by February 10th to sign up for a physical or TO get an update.
