Monroe Network News, Monday, 10.27.14, 'A' day

Today is the start of Red Ribbon Week.  This week is meant to bring awareness to the problem of illegal drug use within the United States and to promote positive decision making among students of all ages.  This campaign has been in existence since 1988 and has been able to reach millions of school aged children over the last 26 years.  This annual awareness campaign was developed to commemorate undercover Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique Camarena and other local law enforcements heroes who have lost their lives in the work against illegal drugs.  Please take a moment to think about those that have given their lives to ensure our safety in the fight against drugs.
